The object of the game is to beat your opponent in a duel. To win a duel you have have to:
1) Decrease your opponents Life Points (wich start at 8000) to 0.
2 Whoever runs out of cards first loses.
3) If you hold the following cards in your hand you are declared an automatic victory: Exodia the Forbidden One, Left Leg of the Forbidden One, Right Leg of the Forbidden One, Left Arm of the Forbidden One, and Right Arm of the Forbidden One.
4) If you play the following cards in the following order you are declared an automatic victory: Destiny Board, Spirit Message I, Spirit Message N, Spirit Message A, and Spirit Message L.
